Hi, I’m Wryn, and I have been an avid promoter of gut health, microbiome, and all things taboo for most of my adult life (2+ decades). That’s right I’m 43 - and I attribute my youthful appearance, abundant energy, and fit body to yoga, Ayurveda, and to my healthy microbiome.

Co-founder of fermented food company Fat Bean Farm & Food Co, I help educate my community about the importance of the missing 6th food group and why it should be a part of every meal.

People have been asking for these recipes for years… well, here you go.

Confession

I have been in recovery from food, alcohol and drug addiction for over 5 years. I was overweight, under energized, an emotional basket-case and hooked on anything that would make me feel good - at times it was just that temporary indulgence of ice cream late at night or a package of cookies, but more often it was the multiple, strong alcoholic beverages back-to-back almost always accompanied with large amounts of marijuana... which of course all ended in late night binge eating and passing out. And to be quite honest - this still happens to me, on occasion. Not so much the alcohol, but the cookies, the late night munchies and the feeling of wanting to escape.

All this to say, I’m not perfect... I’m very human. From time to time, and especially around my moon time, I still give in to my desires, even when I know they are not what’s best for me. I have learned more and more to moderate these tendencies, to give a little from time to time, and to know that I am responsible for the paying the consequences for my actions.

During my recovery, I have also been learning and practicing many different ways to detoxify my body from the years of overindulging. Fasting, cleansing, exercising and beneficial bacteria being the most potents ways I have found to bounce back. And bounce back I have... today I feel great in my body, fall asleep easily and deeply, wake up feeling refreshed, motivated and energized.

I have found what works for me and what doesn’t and I make what works my non-negotiable habits for the day. All with baby steps, forgiveness and acceptance. Because sometimes I still eat cookies late at night.

Embark on a journey to the primal roots of our existence - it’s time to rewild, get dirty, and eat like our ancestors again.

Are your hormones out of whack? Do you feel like your are on an emotional rollercoaster ride? Does it seem like your inner critic is your own personal tormentor? Has your body turned on you with autoimmune dis-ease? These issues may stem from microbial imbalances, an overgrowth of harmful bacteria, such as candida, and an absence of beneficial bacteria. Witness the ease of crafting potent recipes like bone broth, sauerkraut, gut shots, kombucha, kefir, kimchi, and the life-blood elixir: Beet Kvass. Learn how soaking and sprouting grains, nuts, and seeds can render them more digestible and nutrient-rich. I will be demonstrating how easy it is to make these powerful recipes in your own kitchen.

Our quest is not merely educational, but transformative. We will confront our food addictions, break free from toxic choices, and cultivate healthy habits that ripple through every facet of our lives. We will release and replace, working with the elements of fire, water, wind, earth, and ether. We will reprioritizing time in woods, worshiping the sun, the moon, and the stars, and pausing to breathe in the serenity of the present moment.

We will pray. Oh, how we will pray. Down on our knees we will fall and pray - for help, in gratitude, in hope for a better future for ourselves and for future generations. We will honor the powerful lessons that suffering brings, catalyzing incredible transformations that whisper of our potential. Your potential has been whipering to you for your whole life... “go for it,” it says, “put it down” it says, “remember who you are,” it whispers. Lovingly, patiently nudging you towards your destiny.
